Whether you’re a frequent fishermen or the closest you have been to ‘catching fish’ is opening a can of tuna (ethically sourced, of course), this is the last thing you’d expect to find whilst miles out at sea.
Last weekend, Rob Kurdy and his friends were out fishing six miles out on Rhode Island Sound when they spotted something extremely unusual in the distance.

Kurdy and his friends decided to approach the object that was bobbing out in the open sea. As they got closer and closer, they realised that it was in fact a stranded animal.
“You could see it shivering,” Kurdy told WTNH News 8. “It was barely staying afloat, kind of just going in circles.”
The group soon realised it was a buck, miles away from its usual home, that was clinging to life amongst the harsh waves and current.
It’s unclear how long the exhausted animal had been stranded alone, but judging from his aimless paddling, they didn’t think it could have lasted much longer.
