As the rain came down and the cold wind blew, this hiker stood over what he thought might be a bear cub.
The animal was completely lifeless.
Despite knowing the the cub’s mom could return at any minute, this guy knew he had to help the baby out.
The hiker, better known as Corey Hancock is from Salem, Massachusetts, likes to spend his spare time walking and taking photographs.
It was his hobbies that led to his life saving story.
In March 2017 he was rambling through Oregon’s Santiam River Trail despite heavy rain being on the forecast. He just loved the great outdoors.
“I was aiming to check out a waterfall I’d visited a couple times in the past,” Hancock wrote on a Facebook post. “I wanted to see what it looked like swollen from all the recent rains. But more than that, I just needed to… breathe some fresh air.”
