Nothing could have prepared these cyclists for what they spotted when out for a leisurely ride along the Lake Eland Game Reserve in South Africa.
While riding along, the cyclists stumbled across a 4ft python – made even more huge by what he inhaled for lunch.
The pair decided to take pictures of the impressive animal, and as they got closer, they were able to investigate further.
What they discovered was bizarre.
A Big Meal
South Africa is home to some of the largest python’s in the world – however this particular python is big even by those standards. After getting a little closer to the animal, it was clear that it’s eyes had been far bigger than it’s belly.
Lake Eland is situated on the eastern southern tip of South Africa. It is owned by brothers Trevor and Eric Dunstone. It contains bushveld, coastal forest, grasslands and wetland ecosystems. The name comes from the numerous antelope running around the reserve and of course, the large pythons.
