The votes have been counted and the results are in:  Sweepee Rambo, a Chinese crested chihuahua, is officially the world’s ugliest dog.

The hairless pup collected her crown at the 2016 World’s Ugliest Dog Competition on Saturday and her owner is apparently over the moon.

Sweepee’s owner, Jason Wurtz, said that his pooch is a well deserved winner and he couldn’t be prouder of his best friend.

While Sweepee might not have been graced with good looks, she has a heart of gold and has accompanied Jason to work every morning for the last 15 years.

The competition, which took place in Petaluma, California, has been running in the town for over 50 years so, Sweepee is the most recent of many ugly winners to step up onto the Petaluma podium.

However, this isn’t the first time the not-so-pretty pooch has tried out for this title. Last year she bagged the competition’s second place so, it was a big relief when she finally claimed the top spot this year.

Sweepee fought off 17 other dogs for her crown from a Chinese pug to a miniature wire-haired dachshund but, ultimately the chihuahua’s unfortunate appearance secured her the win.

This year’s second and third place prizes went to Josie, a Chinese crested mix, and Rue, a Chinese crested, respectively.

While she might have been labelled the world’s ugliest dog, we can’t deny that we have fallen head over heels in love with this funny pooch.

Congrats Sweepee.
